About St. Augustine

St Augustine was founded in 1565 by Pedro Menendez de Aviles, a Spanish conquistador.  Known as the Ancient City, St Augustine is the oldest continuously occupied settlement of European origin in the United States of America.    

The Ancient City has so much to offer both new visitors and regular guests alike.  The heart of St Augustine is the Historic District which is a 20 minute drive from Summerhouse Beach & Racquet Club.  

The cobble stone paved St. George Street is adorned with vibrant restaurants, boutiques, shops and vendors.  The restaurant options are vast with a vast variety of cuisine.

The Premium and Prime Outlet malls are located near exit #318 on Interstate 95, just a 20 minute drive.  This mall features famous brands and Outlet Distributors.  

St George Street in Historic St Augustine which is also 20 minute drive on A1A.

Nature Lover’s St. Augustine

Aqua adventures like paddle boarding and kayaking the Intracoastal Waterway.  Boating & Deep sea fishing charters are available from local vendors.  Multiple parks are in the area, including Anastasia State ParkWashington OaksFaver Dykes, Princess Place and Ravine Gardens in Palatka. 

St Augustine is home to whale breeding grounds.  With a little luck on your side catch a glimpse of the whales from the beach.Bing’s Landing is only 10 minutes drive from Summerhouse with lovely bush walks along the intercostal.  Boat ramps, restaurant and natural settings.
